EINSTEIN THEORY OF SPECIFIC HEAT: EINSTEIN AND THE EARLY QUANTUM THEORY

        The development of quantum mechanics during the first 
quarter of this century was greatly influenced by Einstein.  His 
contributions to the understanding of the quantum behavior 
will be discussed by illustrating the theoretical ideas being 
put forth and the experiments that were relevant at that time.
