        An Introduction to Evolutionary Computation 
                     and its Applications

The field of Evolutionary Computation has grown significantly
during the last decade to the point that there are now many forms
of evolutionary algorithms (genetic algorithms, genetic programming,
evolution strategies, etc.) and a wide range of applications.  This
talk will present an introduction and overview of the field, and will
discuss some of the important application areas.
